About
The Neapolitan horse came from Naples, Italy during the 15th – 18th centuries and is now an endangered breed.
During the 15th century the Naples area became rather famous in the surrounding regions for breeding quality horses. The best animals were bred & kept by nobles and used as transportation or military mounts. Initially the animals were small, coarse and sturdy for carrying armed soldiers, however the introduction of guns incited a need for heavier breeds and the Neapolitan Horse was nearly washed out by other breeds.
Although there where a few number of purebreds that were kept by private owners who then saw the breed in need of protection along came TNS (The Neapolitan Sports).
TNS started to protect the breed and its unique characteristics. So for all you lovelies we bring you the Purest of Neapolitans.

Accepted coats & Patterns
Flaxen manes & Tail are all accepted.
Light dappling like all above is accepted. Any Dappling like that of a dark Percheron will be penalised as a fault in the judging ring. Silver dapple is seen as a prize for breeding. Many Silver dapple stallions make their owners high profit. White markings on the face can occur and have no limits.
Only one Black ever occurs in the Nh and thats the true black. It shines a metallic blue to a metallic silver. This colour is extremely common.
Markings that only ever appear are a tiny star to a very thin interrupted stripe. The legs may have white, but to most breeders this isn't desirable. Although it is accepted in the show ring.
